Colorado-based bag maker Rocky Mountain Toast has closed their doors and is now known as The Functional Sewing Project, with plans to release their bag designs as PDF patterns for those interested in making their own gear. Learn more here…

Owned and operated by Shalom Zohari, Colorado-based Rocky Mountain Toast recently made the tough decision to close their doors for good and focus on an exciting new project. The Functional Sewing Project is a new concept that Shalom just launched, targeted at folks who are interesting in making their own gear. Starting with their Junk Trunk handlebar/saddle bag, they have plans to release sewing patterns and DIY guides for all of their bags.

Each guide includes detailed photos, a step-by-step guide, and printable patterns for making your own personal bags. They’ve also included a resources page for each bag, with links and information on where to source the required fabric, hardware, and other bits. The PDF guide for the Junk Trunk bag costs $20 and is available now. We have plans to work with Shalom on some other simple guides for making your own gear, so stay tuned for more.
